Espetus Brazilian Steak House
The Brief
Espetus is an authentic Brazilian Steak House with locations in San Francisco and San Mateo. Espetus reached out to us to design a new website to bring it up to date, and provide customers the ability to learn about the business, easily get general information, book a reservation, and inquire about group events.
Our Approach
In addition to our usual website design process (sitemap, mockups, design, code, then launch), we worked with the team at Espetus to create beautiful, new photography, a custom time-lapse video, and a custom meat cut slider.
We kept the essentials from the previous website – the ability to book a reservation, Yelp reviews, and integrations with their frequently used marketing tools such as Fishbowl and Tripleseat. As we designed through a few iterations, we also worked closely with the Espetus team to refine and update the copy and menus. The intention of it all was to create a classy, clean website with beautiful features that highlighted the restaurant’s food and overall experience.
While the entire website is custom-designed, we delivered three unique additions to the website:
Time-Lapse Video
Our in-house video production team spent a few hours recording the San Francisco location to create a unique time-lapse to feature in the hero area of the website.
Custom 3D Slider
We developed a custom 3D Slider based on Swiper which loads data via Advanced Custom Fields and can be loaded in various areas of the site as a shortcode, making it easy and straightforward to add, remove, or swap new meat cuts whenever they choose, as the meat selections change from time to time.
Photography
First, we coordinated with professional photographers and the Espetus team to build a plan of attack for each page. After deciding on a shot list, and a photographer, we moved forward to shoot everything from plated food to lifestyle photos.
The Result
Espetus customers can now more easily browse the website with updated information, inciting them even more to book a reservation. The team is also now able to update the content themselves through a lightweight page builder, and have it all packaged up into a beautiful, custom-designed and optimized website. Nothing out-of-the-box here.
In unprecedented times, none of us were able to imagine that the restaurant would need to temporarily close its doors. While they’re hopeful about reopening once again, it is now more important than ever to support local businesses and restaurants such as Espetus during this time.
