Kryptos Biotechnologies

The Brief

Kryptos Technologies, Inc is a group of leaders in innovative and transformative life sciences through proprietary technology and life science systems that benefit society, one cell at a time. They have deep scientific expertise and a passion for improving the quality of care and human health.

Jinyong Lee, the co-founder of Kryptos, came to Smack Happy to help him create a custom website design that represented the current state of the company, providing enough information about projects to explain the technology and concept at a high level to intrigue a variety of visitors.

In addition to a custom-developed WordPress website – we also worked with Kryptos on custom illustrations, infographics, icons, and also organized, wrote, and coordinated their website content.

Our Approach

For this project, we dove right into discovery – through questionnaires, meetings, and file collaboration. As we wrapped up the sitemap and worked through the prototype – we also were well into the content development. Before we began the design, we even prepared a content wireframe to map out exactly how it would flow on the homepage.

Custom Content

We worked very closely with Jinyong on the content, as we always want to ensure that the content we deliver for our clients not only makes sense for their business but also makes sense for their target audience(s) as well. And this content was tough! We really immersed ourselves into their amazing technologies – leaving no stone unturned. Jinyong was so patient and truly essential to this part of the process.

Custom Illustrations, Infographics, & Icons

We began with concepts and worked our way up to a beautiful 3D-like cell, providing insight into the PCR Single-Cell Multinomics System.

Shortly after, we created a completely custom, high-quality illustration of the Integrated Sample-to-Answer PCR Molecular Diagnostic System — a concept that is driven by the development of this product. This system will provide doctors, scientists, and researchers a highly-accurate, sample-to-answer result in just 20-minutes.

Then, we created infographics and illustrations that displayed the processes involved in Photonic PCR, a life-science application of the Photothermal heating technology used in biological and clinical research.

The final graphics delivered involved the creation and development of nine custom illustrative icons depicting two processes – one per each product.

The Result

In addition to precision branding, well-researched content, and a beautiful overall aesthetic – we really made sure that every little detail was accounted for. As you will see on the site, we designed branded buttons with a subtle, classy hover effect as well as a custom-designed a shrink sticky nav bar on scroll.

As we do with all of our WordPress websites, we ensured that the site is easy-to-use for both the clients and their audiences alike. The website is able to be used on any device, includes data-tracking, and was tested thoroughly for all major browsers in preparation to make any final tweaks to reach optimal performance prior to launch. This website runs on the WordPress CMS and Beaver Builder with super-reliable and efficient hosting from our friends at WP Engine.

At this time, the dedicated team of scientists and researchers at Kryptos Biotechnologies will focus on next-stage priorities to continue building upon the groundbreaking technologies explained throughout their new website.
