Bartholomew Park
The Brief
Bartholomew Foundation is a non-profit trust dedicated to preserving and protecting 375 acres of historic land near downtown Sonoma through the operation of a free public park, vineyards, and an award-winning winery. Smack Happy was brought on to design and build a small custom website that clearly communicates the Foundation’s mission while showcasing the natural beauty and historical significance of Bartholomew Park. The goal was to create a compelling, accessible digital hub that serves visitors, supports education, and preserves the site’s legacy.
Our Approach
We approached the project with a strong focus on storytelling, user experience, and accessibility. Using the existing sitemap and reference materials from the old site, we organized content to clearly communicate the Foundation’s purpose—preserve, protect, and educate—while highlighting its connection to the Bartholomew Estate Winery.
Design decisions emphasized visual impact and clarity, allowing the property’s landscapes, vineyards, and historic elements to take center stage. We structured the site to be intuitive and welcoming, with clear calls to action and visitor-focused information throughout.
The Result
The final website delivers a visually engaging and functional online presence for Bartholomew Park that reflects both its natural beauty and historical importance. Visitors can easily learn about the Foundation’s mission, explore the property, and access the historical timeline in a clear, organized way.
The site serves as a centralized, accessible resource that supports ongoing education and growth. With a clean structure, thoughtful navigation, and built-in ADA compliance considerations, the Foundation is well positioned to share its story and welcome visitors for years to come.
