Quick note on AIaaS: Depending on your font, that may read as "Alas." We did not plan that. We also did not correct it. A typographic accident that feels oddly appropriate.
AIaaS, or AaaS (pronounced /æs/ — rhymes with "class") is what we prefer to call it.
What if I want to make updates to my site during the migration?
We can handle that. If you want content changes, design tweaks, or fixes made while we’re migrating, we’ll scope those separately so you know what’s included in the migration and what’s additional. It’s often a good time to make updates since we’re already in the code. Just let us know what you’re thinking and we’ll quote it alongside the migration.
What does the assessment involve?
We review your current site, hosting environment, domain setup, plugin inventory, and any custom functionality. We’re looking for anything that could cause issues during the move and anything that should be cleaned up before or after. If we determine the site isn’t a good fit for migration, we’ll tell you.
What if my current developer won’t give me access?
We’ve dealt with this more than you’d think. We can work with your hosting provider and domain registrar to recover access. If you’re locked out of your own site, that’s something we can help resolve.
Do you migrate sites from platforms other than WordPress?
Yes. We’ve moved sites from Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy, AI-platforms and other builders to WordPress. These are rebuilds rather than direct migrations since the underlying technology is different, but your content and structure come with.
Will I lose my search rankings?
Not if it’s done right. We set up proper redirects, preserve your URL structure, and make sure search engines can find everything in its new location. Though some fluctuation is normal, migrations done without this step are where rankings get lost.
Will my site go down during the migration?
We build and test everything on our servers before pointing your domain. The actual switchover is typically a few minutes. Most clients and their visitors never notice.
How long does a migration take?
Most migrations are complete within one to two weeks, depending on the size and complexity of your site. In some cases, we’ve migrated websites in 24-48 hours, especially if it’s an emergency. If cleanup or remediation is needed before the move, that adds to the timeline. We’ll give you a clear estimate after the assessment.
What does website migration include?
We handle the full technical move: files, database, DNS configuration, SSL setup, and testing across browsers and devices. Your content, SEO history, and domain all come with you. We don’t just copy files over and hope for the best. If you prefer to work with your IT provider, we have no problem collaborating with them to get the job done.
