Project Summary

Brief

Fair Pay Workplace is a non-profit organization that provides a trusted and transparent measurement for organizational pay equity. We were approached in March 2020 to develop the website. The challenge here was the timeline, in that Fair Pay Workplace was meant to be launched on Equal Pay Day (March 31st, 2020) so we needed to provide a quick turnaround.

In 2021 Fair Pay Workplace reached out again for a reskin of their website. They hired outside designers and wanted us to implement these before Equal Pay Day as well. We were thrilled to work with them on an ambitious project once again and to contribute in any way to their mission of pay equity, which aligns so well with Smack Happy’s values.

Method

The deadline was tight for this project in both phases. For the first phase, in 2020, we received the designs from Fair Pay Workplace designers and coded them into a beautiful, fully functional website in a little over two weeks. We believe so much in their mission that we embraced the challenge and had fun in the process.

For the second phase, in 2021, we also received beautiful designs from Fair Pay Workplace designers, but these were more challenging to implement. They had the idea for very specific animations when the page loads and as the user scrolls. Fortunately, we have a team of absolutely brilliant developers that figured an elegant solution and implemented it to perfection on every possible screen size as seen below.

Result

The first iteration of Fair Pay Workplace’s new site was successfully launched on Equal Pay Day in 2020, and you can see how it looked below. This version of the site already looked great, but in 2021 we took it even further with a new version. The site is now more modern and honestly stops users in their tracks with a beautiful opening animation and impeccable transitions throughout.

In late 2021, we also developed a Membership site for Fair Pay Workplace integrating WooCommerce, Hubspot and Stripe.
