The Brief

Tony, owner of Pop-A-Shot® approached Smack Happy to help with the company’s social media and newsletter management. Overall, Tony was looking to build a community of enthusiasts and fans while building revenue. The company also needed a way to reach customers who’ve already purchased a product so that they could announce any product updates and news. Finally, the company needed a website partner to make sure the website stayed up-to-date, secure, and fast like a well-oiled machine.

Our Approach

Social Media: First, we made sure that all of the social media accounts were set up, properly branded, and integrated with the site (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube). Next, we added all of the accounts to a social media sharing tool so that we could plan publishing schedules accordingly per each social audience. As we move forward with our social strategy and any new or upcoming campaigns, we continue to post and engage with fans, enthusiasts and potential customers. We also initiated and run Social Customer Engagement and Customer Service on the Pop-A-Shot Facebook page.

Newsletter: When we first began working with Pop-A-Shot we exported their list of customers and imported them into MailChimp. We set up MailChimp to send out the first newsletter and continue to send out company announcements and promotions. After adding subscriber integrations to the site, we’ve seen the list grow by promising numbers.

Website: Taking advantage of a professional website care plan, we set things in motion so that the site was to be reviewed and monitored with a fine-toothed comb. After a review, we identified items to be tweaked for optimal performance.

The Result

The following data is based on reports from Google Analytics, SEM Rush, MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as of January 2017 (from Sept to Jan).

  • 33% increase in organic website traffic
  • 3% increase in high-ranking keywords
  • 12+ new positive backlinks
  • 1000 to 3,368 newsletter subscribers
  • Abandoned cart email generated over $7,000 in revenue and growing
  • Over 30 happy customers taken care of via Facebook Messenger (many of them leaving positive reviews)
  • 617% organic growth in Facebook Followers
  • 351% increase in Facebook Engagement
  • 100%+ organic growth in Twitter Followers
