You let us know what's going on. We start by understanding your situation.
Assess
We do a full assessment of your current site. We check for anything that needs cleanup before we migrate. A site with unclear security history gets the Deep Dive before migration so nothing compromised moves onto the new infrastructure.
Set Up
We migrate your site to Pressable, configure DNS (typically through Cloudflare), set up SSL, enable Site Protect, verify backups are running, and test everything before pointing your domain.

Why Pressable?

Your hosting includes daily file system backups and hourly database backups, with all backups retained for 30 days.
On top of that, our WordPress support plans add a separate layer: daily cloud backups of your file system and database stored on a different server entirely.
If something goes wrong, we have multiple restore points across independent systems. We've never lost a client's site, and we intend to keep it that way.

SSL
SSL certificates powered by Let's Encrypt are included with every hosted site. Your visitors browse securely, and you get the SEO benefit that comes with it.
DNS
A lot of the downtime we've seen over the years comes from DNS hosted on a reseller or poorly managed server, or misconfigured by a third party. If we're granted user permissions to manage DNS, we can provide faster resolution when issues come up. In most cases, we set up DNS through Cloudflare for our clients regardless of where the domain is registered. It's more reliable, more secure, and gives us the control we need to keep things running.

What if I have an website emergency?

My website is loading slowly. Is there anything I can do?
Yes. Slow sites usually come down to a handful of common culprits: unoptimized images, plugin conflicts, bloated code, or cheap hosting. What do I do if my website’s down?
If your website is not loading:
- Check to make sure this is the same experience for everyone at https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/
If the website is down just for you:
- Try clearing your browser history (cache and cookies) and reload
- Check your internet connection
- Open the website on your phone with the Wi-Fi off (use cellular data) – sometimes companies have a local network that prevents you from viewing outside websites
If the website is down for everyone:
- Shoot us a support ticket email: support@smackhappy.com
- If you’re on a support plan, chances are that our website uptime monitor has already alerted us and we’re working to fix it
If this happens outside office hours, chances are most likely it’s related to the following issues:
- Your web hosting, domain or SSL certificate has expired and bill is due for payment
- The web hosting, domain registrar, or DNS manager (such as CloudFlare) is experiencing maintenance issues
